Luxury item of the year for me

I will keep it simple. I watch a POCKET WATCH! Here are the details of one that I want.

1) I want one that have a lid, so that I can close the watch face when I keep it.
2) I am looking for a Sliver coloured one.
3) It cannot be too big, yet, it cannot be too small. I do not know the exact dimensions though.
4) It must give the right feeling, because I am a very feeling person.

That's all. Although I say its a luxury item, I still have a budget. Yet, it depends on the item. If I really like it, I might just buy it at any price. But if I don't, I definitely will move on.

I definitely need to see the item to be able to know whether I like the thing. In fact, I do not even know what kind of pocket watch I really like. Definitely, I need to search and buy it myself. I want it to be a thing I buy for myself, hehe...

Another random line, Geo Soc room is changing venue to ADM block. Where exactly I have no idea yet, because we have yet to claim the room yet. Hope it will be a bigger room.

Post GSS

I made a few purchases before the GST hike. I bought 2 shoes and a stripped T-shirt which added up to under $150, my budget. Adding to the $40 that I spent on books, under $200 is the amount that I spent for this year's GSS. That's all, and its already more than previous years already. I am not really a spend-thrift, and certainly, I do not need a lot of consumption goods. The purchases were a good treat for me because I have been working pretty intensively these few weeks. However, I am also going to Taiwan for a short holiday, so I am also trying to control my expenses. I still want to achieve certain savings that I want to attain.

Coming week, I am going to meet several groups of friends. I still have to work, and certainly tuition as well. Tuition is my primary source of income, even though its hand-to-mouth kind of work, but that's like that only kind of work I am able to find. Will be a busy week like the weeks of the past month, but at least it should be enjoyable. Most likely, I would not need to work all 5 days, because the office always over indents helpers. Hope I get my pay soon. Peace =)

Shopping Spree...

My shopping spree is slightly delayed by my lack of financial support. I am one of those people that do not take retail as a form of therapy. It’s quite a torture to me, spending money unnecessarily as well as showing a form of weakness for something that I need to show others instead of starting from within.

Nonetheless, I bought 2 books, a cap and one pair of slippers these 2 days. The books were bought from Kino, using my Birthday gift vouchers from GeoSoc people. The cap and slippers I bought today were things that were considered necessary to me by many people. The slippers replace my extremely slippery slippers that turn any normal wet surface into a layer of ice. The cap replaces my not-so-nice grey cap that I use to cover my not-so-nice hairstyle. I will let my hair grow to even more out of proportion states, till I get a job that would need me then to look more presentable.

I want to let my hair be long enough to be tied. About ear-covering length would do. I do not know how long will that take, but I am hopeful. Then, I will dye it one colour for one last time. People want to take bets on what colour that will be? (Hint: my fav. colour) This will be my last outrageous hairstyle before I turn normal and cast away my youth vigour for a more conventional clean-cut fit for the 9-5s.

Read, self-improve, room-improve. I need to improve a lot of things in my life, including my interpersonal skills. I am collapsing inwards again, and the thing is I feel that it’s perfectly fine. Maybe it really is fine to be introvert, the person that I had always been hiding from others in need for acceptance that I could not find during my JC and Army days.

Things done

Sold 2 books online at Ebay. Hope the guy will come back for more of the books that I have. Someone's trash can be someone's treasure. Cashed $4, but thats how desparately in need of money I am. What I am going to write in the next few lines might contradict what I just wrote though.

Bought a Namie Amuro DVD, flimography of her MVs from 2001-2005. Cost ten times the amount I sold my books for. Why did I buy it? I just had to own Namie Amuro's seductive smile, curvy body, hot dance moves, and sweet singing, in hope to replace the lacking of all these in my real life. Suppose to spur me to work harder, keep my spirits high. Cost a bit too high for motivation though. No regrets, still love her short skirts and low cut tops, hehehe...

Bought a calendar, with pictures by the sea. Closest to the island theme that I can find. However, I got it at 70% discount, so it was quite a steal, $6.40 for what costed $22 a few weeks ago. Now I can put some important dates on my calendar, and also motivate me to work towards my island dream.

Did not buy 'The Last Supper' jigsaw puzzle. Wanted to buy it long ago, but it costs 40plus. Feel a bit gulity for choosing Namie over 'The Last Supper'. Choose instant gratification over a longer process. I will get it after I receive my 1st paid day from tuition, minus paying my coordinator her cut.

Did not buy 草猛's collection Dvds. Also choose Namie over them. Sorry, although I do prefer their songs, I prefer looking at Namie, hehe... She is my dream girl now, the one that almost got me to learn Japanese language. I did not, for I chosen my career and money instant of that. Not as if I will get a chance to talk to her if I ever mastered the Japanese language.

Tomorrow, tuition, the day after, school starts. Still looking for another job. Still trying to finish my story. Still planning take part in my uncle's business. Still trying to start my own. Still... procrastinating.

Shopping for books

Great Spore Sale has started for a few days already, n i have been doing some mad shopping lately. Not for clothes, shoes, electrical gadgets, etc. Im buying alot of books. In total, i have bought 8 books, 7 from MPH warehouse sale, and 1 from The Times Bookshop.

For the past few days, i have been to Kino, Popular, MPH, The Times Bookshop. Im left with Borders, hahaha... All those other small small bookshops im not interested, cos dun have the books i want. Kino got a great selection, but so much that i dunno wat to buy. Buying all the books i wan would strain my budget too much for the whole month that i think i might as well eat the books after i finish reading them. But the MPH warehouse sale was damn worth it. today i went back to MPH to see wat are the books retail value. I bought most of them at abt 1/4 of the retail price.Imagine 2 books on self improvement, 2 books on biz, 1 book on real estate, only cost $30. Finish one of the 8 book i bought, n reading 1/4 thru the 2nd one. Anyway, 2 of the books are for my sis, so i only have 4 more books to read. Thinking of going to Borders tml to look for more books. Need to spend some time to apply wat i have read though.

Last nit i could not sleep. Spent the wee hrs playing game, reading, watching tv, listening to mp3, all the way till 7am in the morning. Bothered by sth. Some things not easy to forget after all. But at least i was abt to practice my speed read in the wee hrs, hahaha.....

Very funny, just now i got the shock of my life. Found a letter that said i was not admitted to NUS.... but after a few frantic moments i realised it was last yr's letter saying that my application for NUS biz was not accepted, but that i still get to keep my place in FASS. Crazy wat stuff are still ard in my hse., haha...

Long entry

Ord more than 2 months, trying to have a do-not-talk-abt-army mentiality. However, its not really easy, haha... Living in a mental time capsule for the 2 yrs, 2 months, feel like a patient that woke up from a coma. Living my new found life now, n think im doing well

1st phase of ord is starting to be over, which is the hectically play ur life out. Nowadays, i sleep at 1am, compared to the april's 3-5am ave sleeping time. Starting phase 2, its the learning back of skills that were needed to be forgotten during the army days. Reading, working hard, writing, learning. Thats one of the reasons y im blogging less these days.

My grandmother passed away last Saturday at North West Malaysia. Flew over to attend her funeral on tue afternoon. Werid, saw many relatives that i 1) have seen in the past 10 yrs, 2)never seen for the past 10yrs, 3) never knew existed. Some of them were my distant cousins that were living in Sarawak. Werid, cos although we are abt the same age grp, we just gave each other simple glances. Dunno wat they think of my blue hair. Hmm..... Death is such a werid thing. Sometimes, i feel the funeral is more for comforting the hearts of the family members.

Went for National Achievers Congress. Its a annual event where overseas speakers are invited to speak in Spore. Learnt a few useful things, though it meant sitting thru a full 2 days of lectures. Already booked the next yr's tic, cos its a real eventful seminar for me. Amazing things i learnt from the seminar, from the difference bwt an inspired life and a motivated one, to how to memorise info.

In case people out there still dunno, i have dyed my hair to blue. Its fading away as expected, but the colour varies bwt purple n blue. Much better than that time where i did it at 'REDS', where it faded to green. Have been getting a few strange looks when my hair was pure blue. but now with the slight purpish feel, the statement is not as much as it could be. Dunno y, but inside me, there is a burning desire to have blue hair. Werid huh? i also dunno y. Its not that i wan to imitate any anime or movie charactor. There is this small voice inside me telling :'Dye it blue'. Reminds me of the song Effiel 65, Blue. 'Blue is the colour, that lives inside me....'

Went for my jc class chalet. The intentions of the organiser was gd, but we din have much to do. If u wan to please everyone, how can u be urself? thats wat i truly learnt from this chalet. Thats y there are cliques ard. No real offence to anyone. Just that we have different values sys. I repsect that. Still, its heart-warming to be able to see my class, just that only a third came. Scary how alcohol affects people. Fortunately, Im blessed with the ability to be immune to such peer pressure.

Went to MPH book sale. Bought 7 books at $41. quite cheap, athough the 2 that i bought for my sis brought down the ave pricing of each books. Still, an ave of $6 per book on self-improvement. Saw alot of people, n there were alot of elderly people, as they came down for another event, the food fair, at the other convention hall. Was very crowded. Maybe the organiser can add more movebale toilets when there are many events being held at one time, cos there was a long queue at al toilets, n many were elderly people. Was pretty appalled by how many kids were treating the books, throwing them ard, without any consideration to where n how they are being kept. N im not saying toddlers, but kids at the age around 8-10. Werid wat parents teach their children nowadays.

the guy i bought from was a very gd salesman. say till birds will fly to his hand. i n my friend think i got quite an offer, cos everything was wat i had in mind. its a compaq laptop, 512MB DDR RAM, Pentium M Processor, 15 inch, 40G memory.. thats all i can remember, haha... its the presario series.

For those that think i have a lousy laptop, i would say its nt really high end, but enugh for me, hehe.. most impt it cost 1885 plus GST, including an optical mouse. its cheap for me. Although my mother is paying, i feel rather bad that at this age she is still paying for my stuff. My friend says its thse stuff u need in uni, for studies, so its ok that my parents are payin for it.Wat to u all think? i still feel quite bad for spending my parents money, co al their money are hard-earned money =(

Anyway, no pt being bothered abt it, since its aready bought. one werid thing is that there is a promo for this aptop. if real madrid wins the champion league, i get a $688 rebate. meaning if real madrid wins, the laptop only cost 1200+. hope they win, haha... even though i am a barca fan, haha.... win promo rit? n the staff all had to wear th real madrid jersey. HAHAHA....

Guys, i duno if the guy is bluffing me into buying the laptop, but he said that today is the last day of the offer. oh ya, i also get a free photoprinter, sth which i dun need. already plan to give to my friend, the one that paid for tis laptop 1st becos my mother was not able to transfer the money to me by today. Kindness begets kindness =)
