Its been a long time

I wonder who will ever read this, because most people by now should have thought that my blog is dead. Somehow, it is, because in a way, I had to pursue many other things in life, so much so that I did have time to carry on blogging. In a way, I took expression in other forms, in terms of writing on Facebook, and of course, my latest entries into a Singapore writing competition.

In a way, I lost touch with my blog..

Latest updates here (kind of weird though writing it here).

1) Doing masters, Economics, NUS. Its my back up choice, especially when they accept 2nd lowers.

2) Still single, but I figured I have a target.

3) Getting used to being alone when I need to, but starting to feel kind of scared by my life too, because everything is changing..

Thats all..

Very busy final semester

Very busy. So busy, I hardly blog. Doing numerous stuff. Applying for jobs, which entails doing my Cover Letter (just finished re-doing my Resume as well) writing my ISM, reading some books, taking as much as off to meet all my friends, trying to understand honours modules..

Thinking of what to do for the next few years of my life. However, before that, I am thinking of what I should be doing soon. Blogging is slowly becoming something that is not part of my life.

Settling my thoughts, will come through soon

Ha, I have many things at hand. Thus, I am blogging less. I will get back to you all. Preferable at the end of today.

Forgot I had a blog

2.21am on my clock right now. Was doing research for ISM. Hit a lot of PDFs, but I'm reading less than what I should. I have... a few readings... haha... It has been a great year. I wonder why people (and me) leave reflections to year ends/starts, when, giving myself enough credit, I do plenty of reflection (probably maybe too much at times of thinking and self-doubt). Not saying that others are wrong. Its more of a curious thought. Starts and ends brings occasion for reflections? Its not like we have a day off when the new year starts to think about life? Oh wait.. is that why New Year's Day is a Public Holiday? Hmmm.... I thought they just needed a day to ensure their calendar calculations are correct... (See, isn't this too much thinking???)

I try (at least successfully to this point) to not reflect about the year that passed. My life has been great in general. To pick a year out of my 24years of existence and complain about it is a crude economic mistake of taking too small a sample to reach to an analysis. Although yes I did my reflect at the start of last year about the last last, is not as though the "analysis" is cumulative to the point where if I do it every year, I will have a chained analysis of (24 - n)years of work (n = no. of years where I did not review (t-1)th year in (t)th year).

Some consistency for my past 24 years, I did make some great friends, as well as lose some. I will continue to treasure my existing friends, try to regain friends that I have lost, and somehow make (and find time for) new friends... Written in order of preference.

Thus, Life is Great! QED

Okie, I am on to doing them now. Bye! Merry Xmas to all. New Year.. when it comes then I wish you all again =)

Review of profs for this sem..

Hmm.... the semester is ending!!! Sad indeed... for after this semester, I am onto my last semester! Suddenly feel like reviewing this semester's professors. I realised I have 6 profs to cover if I cover them all. As such, I will restrict to just my econs profs.... No names attached, only initials, but the well informed econs major should know who I'm talking about.

LMT: Skinny MIT engineer lookalike, a.k.a. the Scholastic Regressor. He loves his regressions, Many a times, me and MJ caught him smiling so happily when he talks about regressions and their implications and results. Amazing that someone can take so much pride and joy in their work, and amazingly, on works like econometrics. As much as I respect him, he needs to improve on his grading systems. He gives too many 5 mark projects, too many ungraded tutorials and 1 presentation, and not to say his chip giving saga. He definitely can't work when IR is open, because he gives chips as though they are free! Con: Utter respect for his knowledge, utter disgust at poor grading system.

Ur Highness: Whiz kid, a.k.a Silent killer. He is smart, damn damn smart. He looks nice, not that tall, so he looks friendly, but I have heard how difficult his final were. I expect them to be as difficult this semester, if not even more. Respect him for his knowledge and patience! Love the module he teaches also, but can't say it here...

Creamer: Nice prof, a.k.a "I use maths freely in this module..." Ya.. She said that in the first lecture of the module, and adviced us to drop the module if we are afraid of maths. I think she even hinted that we should drop Economics as a major if maths were not a skill we know. She is great, she has a nice sense of humour, and although I do fall asleep during her lectures, it was never because she was boring, but more of because I slept late the previous night. Would consider her as my ISM prof if I din hear that she is impossible to get unless I am 1st or 2nd upper...

Can't: ...... I can't think of any 1 suitable nick for him. Mr. Interesting comment? Haha.. he is a very very good prof. A prof that is unable to take the most difficult module I have ever taken, and make it less difficult. Still, he is too smart, the smartest genius I have seen in person that is, at least that is what I feel. Unforunate for my uni that I feel there is no one that is at his level. Maybe that's why we are only a lowly 30, while he comes from a place ranked in the top 10 (or 5, cant really remember everything, and such rankings always change)

Written too much, still got LMT's presentation due tomorrow, with no idea who is going to present. Lets all see how....

1 of the rare things Im proud of myself

I take modules for interest. Of course, there are still CAP considerations, but in general, I do take modules of interest. I try not to shun away from modules of my interest, unless I think I am at a disadvantaged in the module (e.g. Japanese 1), or that the module is really too difficult for me to pick up. However, at least for now, I am taking Japanese 1 and Industrial Organization.

Next semester is my final semester in NUS. Unfortunately, in this final semester, I might have to break this promise to myself that I have held so dearly for the past 3.5 years. I might have to take modules because of their ease, or the possibility of gaining a better grades. Yet, I wonder, is a 2nd upper worth my integrity? Haha.. I make it sound so serious.. but well, I do not know.

The modules that I am interested in next semester that has no module credit value to me. Mathematics Economics I. I need to clear 4 lvl Economics modules next semester to graduate with whatever class. Any modules beyond that are extra. In fact, I'm already taking 2 modules that do not fulfill any requirement for my graduation. On top of this, I am still interested in taking 1 more 'Breadth' module. I put inverted commas because they do not fulfill Breadth. They fulfill nothing, because I sealed my Breadth modules already. How? So I take modules for interest? Depends on what I get this semester then...

Love the rain

Its raining now. Love the rain. Kinda love my room also, because it gives me a good view of the rain. I guess 1 complain people can have about my blog (other than blogging less and less) is the lack of photos.

I am a lazy person. I am lazy to take photos, as well as lazy to upload them. But well, today, I am going out of my box, doing both at once, because, I think the view of the rain in my room is really very nice.

Nonetheless, the photo isn't really that great, because its a lousy camera taken with a not-so-great cameraman. Make do la ah? At least its a photo!

Oh ya, I experimented with the colours, contrast and stuff. Looks more gloomy, but doesn't rainy days strike you with that gloom (in a good way)?

Ok, I am sorry to myself

Guilty from slacking too much. I obviously know I can't study at home, so now, I swear to myself, I will never tell myself "Hey, lets try it today, maybe today I will be able to study well at home..." BLEAH! CRAP! I know myself well enough that this statement is false, because I definitely cannot study at home!!!!!

I am the root of my own problems. I am unable to do so many things, because I am not unable to focus my life on something important enough to push me ahead. Or I should say, there is nothing in my life so far as to be able to push me far enough.

Maybe I do, but I sort of keep it under wraps, maybe because I know its too complicated. Tomorrow is a public holiday, and yes, I am thinking of where I can go to study. Definitely not in my own home.. Where? NUS is sort of closed, because there will be no food around. All public libraries are closed on public holidays. My home again? Please!!!! NO!!!!!! I need to think of a study place. Anyone has any suggestions?

What is most important to me?

So sorry, but do not expect me to say what I wrote on my title of this entry here. Then why do I write that title? Well, I thought of that question, and already have its answer. I would like people to think about what is the most important thing to them, especially people that still somehow look at my blog for various reasons.

I am still myself. I have not changed much, and I think, with great probability, I will remain roughly the same for the rest of my life. Maybe its sad, maybe its not. Well.. I think I cant really control some things. Focus on those that I can control then. Bleah.. lost the feeling to blog suddenly. END HERE.

Less than silent night

After I reached home from NUS, I couldn't take it, so I played some games. Bathed at 1plus, finally started to study a bit of Japanese. Thus, not so silent night, because I am listening to Japanese learning audio.

Feeling better today, but still... think I might not want to come on MSN too often anymore... Too much negativity being linked with MSN for me now. Giving myself a break from constant need to connect with the rest of the world. When I know I do not need to plan/do projects, I can leave with peace, MSN that is.

Should sleep early soon. Thanks for all that is concerned about my life. Its not the best now, but I think I wouldn't die from it. Not yet, I think I'm far from being overworked anyways. Hope I do not prove myself to be wrong. Hope..

Wonderful world

Woke up late today. Slacked till long today. Now, I am suppose to be studying, but realised, I have something that I have not fed for the past few weeks... My blog.

Nothing really much to add, because my life isn't really very colourful these days. However, I do feel that life seems to be running faster away from me, as though I am going to die by tomorrow. Maybe this means I should try to live everyday like its the last. Maybe I should start now.

Okie, maybe I should start studying now. Trying to add interesting content to my blog has failed quite miserably.. Crap! haha..

Enduring for honor...

I watched and wonder, "Does all this increase my employment chances?" I know they do not, because even my prolific professor says that she is trying to bridge us and graduate school. I was hoping more for bridging our incomes gaps with the higher tier of the society. How does linear, matrix, order spaces help me in my future? I seriously have no idea, and I think the rest of my class have no idea either. "Theorizing! I am trying to teach you how to theorize abstract economic concepts....(he lost me here)"

Well... I am stuck in this ditch anyways. At least most of my other professors are as well, dynamic personalities that draw me closer to their modules. Just one, the one that I want to 'murder' (I put inverted commas because the true act of murder is not within my mind. It is used just as a metaphor of hate. I am NOT going to kill anyone.... DUH!!!) But well, maybe in the future (hopefully near), I will learn to appreciate his econometric modeling methodology. Maybe, depending on the field that I will be entering.

Feeling more and more stupid day by day as I face with constantly "slaps-in-your-face" harsh reality checks of personal incompetency. I can't do this, get stuck in that, get lost in another, get frustrated with myself.. blah blah blah.. The list of "suicidal-leading-incidents" (Again, not going to kill anyone, and "I" is a subset of anyone!!!!) goes on. Apologize to my list of friends that I complain to (some daily), although I seriously wonder who really reads my 'dying' blog anyways these days.

Busying recovering

Was busying recovering from emo-ness. Before I could finish doing that, I felt ill. Now, I am busy recovering from illness (flu). Blame the weather, blame myself. Have been to weak to do anything for a week plus. Things are clogging up. My readings, my assignments, my vocab list, my nose.

So sorry, no time to blog much. Need to go unclog my life.

じゃまた!

Change...

I think this semester is a real test of my strength. I will change, to be a better person. I will try. If not.. I think it will be a very difficult time for me... I will survive, but only when I change.

Feeling like crap

I feel like crap. I........ feel crappy.... I think my life... can be better? Getting into the 'this is fate' mood. I can't help to think that... my life is.. like that... and that... it will be what it will be, no matter how much I try...

Definitely feeling down in a way. I do know there are postive lights in my life, but maybe these sparks are not good enough to light my life up. I hope after ICT & Japan, I will be different. Physically & material-ly there are already changes. I will be more disciplined. Like? Stopping my blogging now & go pack my stuff for ICT & Japan =(

Global citizens

I am taking a small step towards being a global citizen. How? I am going to Japan for summer school!!! Isn't that great?? I have always wanted to go Japan, and now, finally, I get the chance. Not only that, I am going alone, with 20plus Singaporeans that I don't know at all, but we will make friends when we are there (I hope?).

Definitely thinking of working overseas. Kept the article about Singaporeans working overseas. I think it's cool. In fact, isn't our government preparing us for the world? I can contribute to Singapore's economy from abroad, can't I? We actually give up a lot of things, like their being with our family & friends, doing the things we like to do, and certainly, the that is so so nice food... We give up our comforts, leave our comfort zones and venture to a place for the betterment of ourselves, but often not, our growth means the growth of the nation as well.

I want to see the world, because I feel this tiny dot doesn't have the things that I want in life. Not money. Not material well-being. Freedom? Choice? Growth? There are many...
