It affects my life. 3 years and I still wonder if Economics was the correct choice. Well, no one, I believe, changes his major in his honours year and expects to graduate within a year.
I do have to admit, Economics as a appeal comes very strongly from its marketability. No one can deny that most Economics majors enter into the major because of that. Me too. No matter how interested I am about Economics, this fact can never be removed. Yet, I still dare stand tall and say that I love Economics, because of the things I can do with it & because how it amazes me with application from Mathematics. No no, not employment opportunities, but its thinking process.
Looking back (something I always like to do), I did thought of doing Philosophy as a major. Well, I got a freaking B for its introductory module & I was scared off by potential difficult thought analysis and the lack of job opportunities (think Economics). Its just weird, coming from my family, to somehow say am a Philo major. Its just in my family for me to do that. Maybe its my blood. Somehow, I still like to think, and Economics have given me some (although I argue that it is not enough).
Japanese studies. Have been looking at its website lately (for my summer school thing), and my my, do they have some freaking interesting modules!!! I always like Japan for its pop culture, manga (like duh, which Japanese craze youngster nowadays don't?) But I like the way they do things (less the male-dominant society). I believe some Japanese have a really huge heart, not in charity, but in thinking. In the Chinese society, we call it "心". Its about being thoughtful, a kind of thinking process that seeks to understand solutions beyond profit margins (Beyond Economics?)
Sorry Geo majors (don't who might be reading this), but I never liked Geo... until university days. Yet, the ones I like are grossly beyond me. Economic Geo, urban studies are 2 of the only few I like. I never liked physical geo, because... its just a preference, no reason I guess.
Mathematics, thats like the major that I am most interested in, but also most inadequate to do. Anyone what 'Numbers". Sorry, but the Maths Prof in that show is so so hot (I am straight by the way, but I do appreciate the finer things in life). So cool, he makes Maths so cool. If I ever watched the show any earlier in my life, I might have been a Maths major. Whoa.. in a way, lucky I did not..
Isn't this a major problem? To think about my major again during my entry into 4th year? Going out soon. Bye peepz, and thanks for hanging in there for so long and coming back to read all these after such a long break from studies =)
