Game theory?

I have been so busy lately, I have not much time to blog. Here, I feel an urge to blog about this.

Game theory tells me that given a choice that we have not, we should not negotiate with the Taliban for the North Korean hostages. Yet, just typing this sentence out makes me sick. Indeed, if Americans compile to the Taliban's demands, it will most likely lead to more kidnappings, and indeed, if the South Korea hostages were killed, both side loses, because Taliban gets not their demands while its obvious what South Korea lose. Ever so often, I see 2 seemingly civilised people on TV, indirectly telling people that they will let those North Koreans die while they do nothing. We can draw back to the link when some Italians were kidnapped and released after the Taliban's demands were met. I'm not very sure of that event, but I guess many feel that that it was the handling of that event that led to more kidnapping. I realised how game theory falters me here, because in the end, humans are not complete rational people. In fact, being irrational is rational here, because humans have emotions.

I falter again when the North Korea Nuclear Crisis occurred. I thought that the Americans would not oblige to the demands of North Korea, because WWII taught us that people can break promises, especially when you deal with people that are so unpredictable. In the end, oil went to North Korea. I am not really following whether the North Koreans have completely shut down their nuclear plants, but they seem to be asking for more. Again, reminds me of Hilter, when more giving led to more giving which eventually led to hostile invasions when they were not able to get what they want through soft means. I really hope there will be no more new wars, and that current wars would end soon. Don't want to care about wars now. I hope South Koreans hostages will be released.
