NUS students take note!!!

Sorry to non-NUS people. This is a reminder entry to NUS students reading my blog. Bear with me, as I feel this is of utmost importance. Maybe international readers (if I have any) can take a look at how my country’s university education system works.

If you all did not realize, application for Business Minor is over. So if you are like me and just knew it closed on 30th May, before you can apply for it, brace yourself. Face the facts. Business Minor application is over. Just move on. Life does not end here. Just choose another Minor if you really want a minor, or try next semester. I’m thinking of Urban Studies. I will take a module next semester to have a feel that it. If things do not work out, I can categorized it under my Breadth (module requirement outside my Faculty). To sound like sour grapes, there are tones of Business Majors and Minor graduates per year, but only a few people that take Urban Studies Minor. Hehe… Neither am I just taking a Minor for the sake of taking one. I feel that Urban Studies will be able to give me a more all-rounded education, the ability to take on numbers, as well as concepts of city planning, urban systems, which actually would sharpen my ability to see things in big pictures. Anyway, no offence to Business people. I like it a lot. I tried to Major it and failed. Then I tried to Minor it, but I also failed. Maybe it’s fated that I am not to take Business academically.

Next up, SEP application is opening come Monday. At least that’s the case for my Faculty. I am applying for my SEP. This weekend would be a long one, with me planning my modules, as well as having 2 outings on Saturday and Sunday. I will have to check out with many people on how to really go about doing this SEP application. Oh, silly me. SEP stands for Student Exchange Program. If I do get my place, then I will tell you all where I will be heading. No need to talk about it now.

What else? This might look crap, but if you all have not changed your NUS email passwords, that might be expiring soon. Think of a new one that you have not used before, but yet, be able to remember. Who wants to steal my NUS email? I find the added security very disturbing. No choice. Maybe you all can change it on the last day before it expires. It’s just some of the non-academic troubles the varsity gives its undergraduates. Cannot imagine what passwords I would use if I were to be an Honours student.

Maybe my blog brought forth a lot of negative connotations about the university I am studying. However, taking things in perspective, I think that actually its good to have some negative stuff happening in your life. If not, what is life to be? Without sadness, there is no happiness. Without evil, there is no goodness. We should always keep things in perspective.

I think that’s all I know NUS students should know about. If there is something that I left out, but you people think I should say, drop a comment ok? Haha… quite a creative way to solicit comments are. Also, I will try to add another tagboard soon. My previous one gave me a pop-up bug, so I deleted it away. Hope the minor changes in my blog make reading it more appealing. Smiles.

u need to declare ur minor as urban before u take that module... else it wunn count towards the fulfilment of the minor even when u pass that mod and get A. sorry no count. u need to do another 6 more. but do check. i think once u declare ur minor, it'll be reflected in ur transcript... even if u nvr complete it. so best check with the dept on this k. -jh
