Day 5-Power corrupts, water corrodes. So?

Here, I will do a small write out on some of the pointers I will write in the near future. The topic is control.

What gives control? I take it as power. What creates power? Somewhere somehow, I learnt that power shifts. In nature, strength was the absolute conversion of power. The more strength you had, the more power you had. A brute world it was, but that was how nature balanced its scene. Humans were a weak species but they fortunately for us, we managed to outwit the harsh nature and survive under a group setting.

Somewhere in the past, some amazing event changed the face of the world, creating the present day landscape. Fire blessed humans with the tremendous power, elevating us above the rest of the species on this planet. It gave us power over strength. Power shifted.

However, the separation created by fire was only between animals and us. As we grew in population, natural resources did not grow in abundance. Scarcity set in, and we were struggling among ourselves for power not long after we claimed ourselves as lords of the planet.

Going less further into the past, land became the statue of power. Kings, landlords kept their powers in hand as men toiled and worked hard on their lands. They were given minimal, because they did not own the lands. Just enough to not die. However, land itself did not helm such great power. Something else played a bigger part.

Money was created as a medium of exchange of goods and services, but I thought it became more of a medium for the exchange of power. Money sometimes just bought power. A very straight and direct world that saw money more important than air, food, water, land, shelter, and sometimes, even lives. Such intense power created by money was actually created by humans themselves. They wanted control over their lives, to be sure that they had food when they were hungry, roofs over their heads, clothing for warm, and many other wants. They wanted to be sure they would get want they need and want. They wanted control.

Coming to the present, land still has its power because of its conversion to a monetary value. So does everything else. However, there is also another new power. Knowledge. From paparazzis to company financial reports to the latest drug developments to natural disasters. Knowledge are yielding as much power as money because of how it shapes our ability to get money. To say knowledge will surpass money it power development and creation would be rather impossible. However, knowledge has shaped power tremendously, as well as power’s closest ally, money.

Ok, I think I am done for now about these ideas. Note that this is just a random thought from my brain, so its more like notes rather than the actually publishing of anything.

Still counting down. Still doing well. Lets see how things develop. For worrying friends, I am fine, especially when school is going to start. Can embark my journey of academic learning again for that piece of paper. Yeah!!!!
